I have an interview with WashU Olin Associate Director of Admissions in his hotel lobby in Philly. I do not wear suits to work, just business casual. Would it be inappropriate to show up to the interview in my business casual work clothes? Help

Go with a suit if you can. Better to overdress than underdress. Plus, you'll feel more confident in a suit.

Anyway, I personally would always opt for a suit. It's not like you'll look out of place in a suit in a hotel lobby or Starbucks, but you would look out of place in business casual attire with an interviewer in a suit. It's just not worth the risk. Take the jacket off if the interviewer is dressed more casually.

definitely SNOW SUIT UP if you're in a cold-weather zone for the hotel interview.

as for starbucks, a sweater over a collared shirts and slacks should do well..the classic prep look.

Why would you have to go home? Just throw on the jacket and tie right before the interview.
