hmmm really very tough question. I will go for E. At end of sentence we see "such athletes must display great endurance and strength", so I believe 'such athletes' must have some logical reference. choice B has odd 'construction necessary of', so I will mark that as incorrect. In choice D 'one' is singular whereas such athletes at end of sentence is plural. Finally only option E looks good. What is the OA ?

we need 'tennis players' in the beginning of the sentence.

Only B or E has it. 'for tennis players' makes more sense than 'of tennis players'. Hence, E.

It is a tough one. The non-underlined part (such atheletes ....) gave some clues.

IMO - E

Due to the lengthy amount of time necessary FILL IN THE ANSWER CHOICES a tournament match in professional men's tennis, [strike]a sport known for lengthy volleys and service games,[/strike]such athletes must display great endurance and strength.

Based on the meaning athletes should come in the 1st part of the sentence -
Due to the lengthy amount of time necessary FILL IN THE ANSWER CHOICES a tournament match in professional men's tennis

This narrows down to B, E
B - "time of tennis players" wrong idiomatically , not only completing but also winning is wrong form of ING to be used in the context of the sentence
E - "time for tennis players" and "NOT ONLY ... BUT ALSO" idiomatically correct

So OA should be E

Idiomatically is it compulsory to use "for"
