What is your end goal? Personally I would go with Duke but CMU is a very analytical school and I'm sure the degree from them would set you up for success.
I am currently waiting on an admissions decision for Duke's MSQM program.

Hey,
I am from a tech background and I wanna dive into the management domain. First, I thought of pursuing an MBA, but it would have been completely new territory for me. That's why I have decided to pursue something which is in the middle ground of tech and management i.e. Business Analytics, which I find very interesting.
My ultimate plan is to pursue an MBA or Ph.D. in Management from one of the M7 schools, for which, I believe, Business Analytics from a reputed school would be very conducive.
So, right now, my top priority is reputation of the school and then the job prospects.
I'm really confused right now for these two. If I ask tech people, they all suggest me to choose CMU, and If I ask management people they all suggest me to go with Duke.
I find CMU's program just as beckoning as Duke's, the only thing I'm worried about is the reputation of CMU's Heinz College. People on the internet have said a lot of nasty things about the Heinz.
