Hi I currently sit at 710 (48Q/38V). My goal is 730+. I'm looking to go to a top ten school. Would love to go to Columbia. Planning to apply ED for Columbia.

Posted from my mobile device

Hello,

I'm not sure how much help I can be, but i'll try my best.
I am a native speaker (born and raised in the US) although I do speak another Asian language fluently.

I decided to enroll to the E-GMAT program(still only 2-3 weeks in) because my Verbal (SC especially) is very poor. I scored a 27 on verbal on my first attempt.
That being said, I don't know how beneficial the course would be for someone like you who's already in the high 30's.
I wouldn't say you wouldn't get anything out of the course, but the course is great for non-native speakers or someone who is poor in Verbal because they take you through the basics slowly and in detail.

If you're already at a 710, I would personally recommend you try to get your Quantitative up to the 50/51 level although others may disagree. I think it may be easier to bring that score up instead of the Verbal.

All in all, if you decide you want to work on you Verbal, there may be better programs/other methods to improve your score on more advanced topics.

Good Luck!

Hi AHP578,

First off, a 710/Q48 is an outstanding score (it's right around the 90th percentile overall), so you should apply to any Business Schools that interest you. As such, a retest is likely not necessary. Since you've specifically mentioned Columbia (which is a highly competitive School), you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:
