Hey guys,
I thought I would just share some data quick on some of the different resources I've used for CATs thus far in my studies. I know when I started studying I chose the Economist GMAT Tutor but didn't really know how the course matched up to other companies such as MGMAT and I felt like my initial CAT score of 680, and the score I got on the 4th, were a little inflated.
Over the last week I've taken 3 CATs (Economist GMAT, MGMAT, and GMATPREP) and would just like to give you the scores on them so you can see how they differ for me personally.
Economist GMAT Tutor CAT (7/4/2016): 730 (49Q/42V)
MGMAT CAT (7/9/2016): 630 (40Q/36V)
GMAT Prep (7/10/2016): 730 (49Q/41V) (I know the test is adaptive but I got 16 wrong in quant but still ended up with a 49)
I will keep you guys posted on what I get on the actual GMAT in 4 weeks!

The process of taking (and reviewing) a CAT requires a significant amount of energy and effort - and takes time to 'recover' from. This is one of the reasons why you typically shouldn't take more than 1 CAT per week. By taking three CATs in one week, there's a reasonable chance that you experienced some 'burn out' along the way.
Since you didn't provide much information about how you took these CATs, there's also some question as to how realistically you took them. We're meant to assume that you took your CATs under identical circumstances AND that those circumstances are a relative match for what you'll face on Test Day. The more the details vary from one CAT to the next (and on to Test Day itself), the more likely that there will be 'swings' in your scores.

I took all of the 3 tests in almost identical situations. I started all of the tests between 7:00am-7:15am at the exact same table at a nearby coffee shop, I completed every section including IR and AWA, and I took the normally allotted breaks. The only thing to note is that the economist test does not have a built in AWA section so I had to find my own topic before that test.
I guess I didn't even think that 3 in a week would be too many. I thought it would help with my stamina but you make a good point that it is tough to thoroughly review problems post-exam. My timing on quant was what really killed me on MGMAT though and I made sure to watch the clock a little more closely the next day so I think there were some positives I took away still.
