Eight friends rented a ski house for a weekend and divided the total rent equally. If 2 of the friends decided not to attend the trip, the remaining people would each have to pay $80 more to rent the house. How much did each person originally have to pay to rent the house?

A. $190
B. $192
C. $200
D. $240
E. $320

Amount to be paid extra by the 6 people = 6*80 = $480
This was the amount that had to be paid by the people who did not attend.

Hence amount to be paid initially by each = 480/2 = $240

Correct Option: D
