Hi
davidbeckham (great username!):
This is a little late, but it's worth responding in case you situation has changed (for the worse) or if there is anyone else out there in this GMATClub forum who is going through the same issue.
Losing your job is NOT a disqualifying event, particularly given the pandemic. It is entirely reasonable that you might be laid out for no fault of your own. That said, it is critical to explain what you have done since you became unemployed. Did you sit on your ass and feel sorry for yourself or did you act in some way? For example, you might be looking for another role or getting involved in something extracurricularly until all this passes. What else are you doing to further your career knowing that you are planning to attend school in less than a year from now? MBA applications are all about action and leadership. You still need to demonstrate that no matter the circumstances.
I hope you are still employed but, regardless, if you are gearing up for R2 applications, please reach out to us at
Admissionado for a free consultation so we can walk you through our strategy and get to know your background in greater detail. We have seen so many unique circumstances that nothing really surprises us anymore!
