I have been reading a lot about error logging and I just started one for quant but I am struggling to balance solving new questions with going over my
error log. Could someone give me pointers? Should I just log things I get wrong or everything I go overtime with? Should I be going over the
error log every day or once a week? Is there a recommended excel template?
Posted from my mobile deviceFirstly, if you're looking for a starting point, I'd recommend the GMAT Club
error log. To make it even more efficient, consider adding a few columns that might offer deeper insights into your performance. I suggest the following:
Time Taken
Silly Mistake (Yes/No)
Concept Missing (Yes/No)
What is the concept if missing?
Revised? (Yes/No)
This will not only help you identify the mistakes but also categorize them, allowing for targeted improvement.
As for how often to review your
error log, it really varies from person to person. However, don't get too hung up on the frequency. The primary purpose of the
error log is to highlight areas that need attention, understand the difficulty levels you might be struggling with, and pinpoint specific concepts that need revision. Whether you review it daily or weekly, the key is consistency and using the insights to guide your study plan.
Remember, it's a tool to assist your learning, so mold it in a way that best serves your needs. Good luck, and happy studying!
