Hi banker08,

You have to purchase it. But keep in mind that you can purchase the ESR only for the in-person GMAT.

Do we get the ESR automatically after the exam or do we have to purchase it separately?

Hi banker08

You can purchase your ESR separately only if it was not an online GMAT test.

Hi banker08,

The Enhanced Score Report is an additional purchase that you can make for Tests taken at a Test Center (currently, there is no option to purchase the ESR for the At-home option of the GMAT). While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what (if anything) went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I have another question. After 6 months of dedicated study i was fully prepared for the exam. Hence i gave the exam on 29th. To my surprise i ended up with a really low score. Im devastated and extremely demotivated. I accepted the score but i still have another 14 hours to cancel it. I havent cancelled it yet because i am under the impression that later when i get a good gmat score, business schools will be able to see the improvement and appreciate it. But im still not sure whether this is true. Should i cancel my score? Will this low score rather have a deteriorating effect on my profile? Pls advise

Hi banker08,

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day didn't go as well as planned. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. Business Schools generally do not care if you take the GMAT more than once - and if a latter Score is notably higher than a prior result, then you can potentially 'spin' that Score improvement as one of your positive character traits to the Schools that you apply to. If you have additional Admissions questions, then you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and the more time that you have to act on that advice, the better). There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

Before we discuss any of those potential issues that impacted your performance on Test Day, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

To reiterate something we discussed earlier: if you took your GMAT at a Test Center - and if you purchase the ESR - then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.

Rich

Hi banker08,

I don't know whether you cancelled your score, but you really shouldn't worry about this particular issue. If you're planning to take the exam again, focus on the retake and on your application(s).
