Hi rohan3993,

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day didn't go as well as planned. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. Before we discuss any of those potential issues though - as well as the data in your ESR - it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi rohan3993,

I see you scored Q42. Can you tell me your quant score goal as well as the quant scores from your practice exams?

Hi EMPOWERgmatRichC,

Thank you for the reply.

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week? - Started studying in the first week of March, started with 3-4 hours and then progressed to 6-7 hours a day. Roughly 800+ hours till date.
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used? I took the self paced GMAT course by T.O.P GMAT run by Sandeep Gupta. I completed his course by around 15th May. I have written the first 4 Official Mocks and 2 Mock by Manhattan and 1 by GMAT Club. I currently have Official Mock 5&6, 4 Manhattan Mocks and 2 weeks access to GMAT Club Mocks.
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)? Practice tests were as follows:
04/06/23 Official Mock 1 - 640(Q47, V31)
24/06/23 Official Mock 2 - 660(Q40, V41)
26/06/23 Official Mock 1 - 750(Q49, V44)
09/07/23 Official Mock 2 - 760(Q49, V44)
13/07/23 Official Mock 3 - 690(Q48, V36)
14/07/23 Official Mock 4 - 670(Q47, V34)

19/07/23 GMAT Exam - 650(Q42, V38)

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score? -730+(Q50,V40+)
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to? - Ideally, I would like to write the exam by September end to apply in R2 of NYU(Stern) which is on Oct 18th. Other schools include CBS, Booth, Kellog and UCLA. R2 in January.

Hi Rohan,

To start, since you are interested in some highly-competitive Schools, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and the more time that you have to implement those suggestions, the better). There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

I've also sent you a PM with an analysis of your ESR and some additional notes/questions.
