Hello people,

I just got my acceptance mail from ESSEC yesterday! Absolutely stoked. It's my dream school, and I cannot wait to get there. These next months can't pass by soon enough!

Would love to connect with potential classmates, I could start a WhatsApp or a Facebook Messenger group to help us get to know each other if anyone is interested. Do let me know! :)

Congrat mate !

I am applying for the Master in finance program, so can you please give me some advice about the application form and sop ?
Also out of curiosity, and if it doesn't bother you, what's your profile ? :-D

I did the entire process myself. I didnt go through any site or guide to help me,except for friends and family to proofread and cross check.

I'd advice to make the SoP as personal as possible. Stay away from what's on the CV, and if you do want to bring projects/internships up, focus on WHY you did them and how they will help you further.

My profile:

Class 12: 92%
GMAT 680
Graduation: 6.81( Communication and Journalism, Amity Kolkata)

However, I do come from a sports background. I've played for Mohan Bagan U-16, captained my state team(U-16 as well),S.A.I (U-19), etc.

Plus other co-curriculars in college as well, with an international internship thanks to AIESEC.

I feel ESSEC really values motivation and individuality. If you have a clear goal and know why you're applying, they should accept you provided you've shown you're serious about academics when need be.
They also repeatedly stress that GMAT plays only a role in the entire application process. It is not the end-all.

Best of luck for your application process,I hope you get through! :D

Thanks in advance

ESSEC repeatedly states that GMAT is not the end-all when it comes to their selection process.
Even I did not have a stellar GMAT score, it being only 680.

I would say aim for anything above 680. But please focus equally on your SoPs,LoRs and interview because I felt these elements are what helped me get in as much as the GMAT.

Thanks a lot.
So, I should not apply with a 660-670 GMAT?

I wouldnt say a no. ESSEC told me that they have rejected people with a 750 GMAT and selected people with 630.

If you feel you can do better on the GMAT,I'd say go and take the test again because 2nd and 3rd round applications for these colleges do tend to get more competitive.
However, a 670 GMAT will not be the sole reason for rejection.
