Hi KRai,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?

Goals:
4) What is your exact Test Date?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi KRai,

Raising a 370 to a 650+ will likely take at least another 3 months of consistent, guided study - and you'll have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Unfortunately, with a January 5th Test Date, you have just a little over 4 weeks of potential study time remaining, so you might want to consider pushing back your Test Date.

1) What are the application deadlines after January for each of the Schools that you're interested in?
2) Going forward, how many hours do you think you can consistently study each week?

Sure. Will begin with OG.
I'm thinking of buying the egmat online course (Quants & Verbal)
Has anyone purchased it before? Is it useful enough?

Hi! I couldn't really search for this topic so started this thread.
I have my exam in Jan and really confused about what kind of schedule to follow in order to achieve a score of 650+.
Any suggestions?

Hi
Looking at a current score of 370, a score of 650 will be hard to achieve within 1 month. I suggest to consider brushing up fundamentals of Quant and Verbal from the MGMAT guides and then proceed to OG and tests. Remember to solve each and every question of OG thoroughly and understand the concept involved. You can search the question in the forum in order to check a detailed discussion. Maintain an error log and keep going through it every alternate day.

There are a lot of reviews for many of the courses in the market here. Also, you could always take a trial before actually purchasing a course.

Increasing your score from 370 to 650+ will require a herculean effort and will most likely need around 3-4 months of dedicated study.
Quant -- Veritas Prep guides, Manhattan GMAT guides --> will help to build basic concepts of quant. Also, you can follow Bunuel to see his daily questions.
Once you are good with basics , you can attempt GMAT Club tests .

Verbal -
SC - e-GMAT , Manhattan SC --> the easiest verbal sub-section to improve on , EmpowerGMAT .
CR - e-GMAT , Powerscore CR bible , EmpowerGMAT
RC - It is the most difficult sub-section to improve on.

--> Stick to GMAT Prep tests -- there are 6 of them .
--> OG ,Verbal review and Question packs
--> Maintain Error logs -- Review and analyze the errors .

Hope this helps!! :-)

Hi KRai,

It really depends on what your current level is. I would encourage you take one of the two GMAT PREP practice test. You can know your weaknesses and work on them. If you are willing to study dedicatedly for that period, you are sure to achieve your goal. If you want to focus on verbal you can go for E-gmat verbal online or the e-gmat verbal live courses as both are amazing courses that can really help you improve your scores. For Quant you can go for MGMAT guides.

However, given how close your GMAT date is, I personally do not think one should focus on too many things on the final leg of their GMAT Preparation. It may be nice to give a couple of mocks (the official ones) and work on your weaknesses, but trying something new might not work in anyone’s favor. However if you want to improve on any individual area such as Sentence Correction, you may subscribe to the individual SC course as you can finish the whole course in 10 days (with proper dedication). If, however you are only looking to identify and improve on your weak areas, I would encourage you to purchase the e-gmat scholaranium, which is included in both the courses above. It is without a doubt, one of the best practice tools for verbal and will indeed help you on the final leg of your preparations. Further taking a few mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP, Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.

Further another advantage of taking mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practice tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.

I would also encourage you to purchase the latest version of OG and the verbal review for some great additional practice.

Hope this helps. All the best.
