congrats man, that is just excellent... Could you please share with us what you think helped you (especially for the verbal where I am struggling)?

Primarily, my studying involved doing as many problems as I possibly could. I went through the 11th edition of the OG, section by section, taking note of any problem I got wrong or found difficult, so I could go back and review them later. When I was done with that, I started going through the GMATClub tests. I ended up doing all six of the verbal tests and something like 7-8 of the math tests. I also took five practice exams and reviewed the questions I got wrong several times. On top of all of that, I was on the forums just about every day going through problems (a lot of downtime at work was spent doing that!), and did all of the difficult problem sets I could find, especially from Bunuel's profile and the brutal sentence correction set.

Basically, it was practice, practice, and practice some more. When you get problems wrong, make sure you understand WHY you got them wrong, and go back again sometime in the future to attempt them again.

I'm not 100% positive on the schools yet. I live in Boston and would love to stay in the area, so obviously I'm looking at Harvard, but that's bound to be a longshot. I'm looking at MIT as well, but I don't think I'm as interested. I sent my GMAT scores to those two, plus NYU, Columbia, and Kellogg, because I've been leaning towards marketing as a concentration. Brand management really fascinates me. Lots of work to go in the process, obviously, but I'm psyched to be done with step 1!

Kellog has the main "expertise" in Marketing, so it looks like a good fit!!
You have a GMAT score that allows you to aim at any BS, so just do so .
Do not forget however that GMAT is just one admission criteria, so try to focus on essays, etc...
Good luck, and keep us posted
Cheers

Got my official report today and found I got a 6.0 on the AWA portion as well! I'm actually a bit surprised about that, because while I thought I wrote a really strong argument essay, my issue essay felt really bad, especially considering I completely started over and went with the opposite viewpoint 10 minutes into writing that one...

There's no way I could have accomplished this without this forum, the resources available here, and the discussions I've had about problems here. Thanks GMATClub!!

Wow, congratulations, TehJay - you really did deserve that confidence, after all! That's such a huge score and you have to be feeling great about it.

I hope you're celebrating appropriately. Actually, your username has always reminded me of one of my favorite dive bars here in Los Angeles, Chez Jay, where I often celebrate the successful completion of a GMAT class or Veritas project. I'll make sure to have a celebratory beer in your honor over there!

Congratulations!
