Hi Verbal experts, mikemcgarry, GMATNinja

In RC, few of primary purpose questions contain "examine" options. Could you explain me meaning of "examine" option and what should i consider during POE of such options.

Regards,

I look at 'examine' as a neutral term, like 'discuss', 'describe', or 'explain'. I've never seen a problem where the nuanced meaning of 'examine' turned out to be important. It's more important that you know it's different from charged words, like 'argue', 'question', 'contrast', etc.

I wouldn't recommend eliminating an answer choice just because it says 'examine' - most passages examine something after all, because that's what you're doing when you write about it! (We're examining Reading Comprehension right now, for instance!)
