I think that nowadays as we have access to any kind of information the admission process shouldn't be so difficult, but unfortunately, this isn't true. However, thanks to many services that help us get into the desired university. I was helped with my Personal Statement as I didn't know what aspects to take into consideration and what to focus more on, as I really wanted to get noticed. MIM-ESSAY is the WORST consultant ever.

You need to first ask yourself why you need a consultant in the first place. Consultants do not have any magic pills that will make your profile charming. It’s the hard work you have done over time that will land you acceptance from your dream colleges.

My experience with MIM-ESSAY.

I took their paid service worth 46,000 for 2 colleges for the MEM(Masters’ in Engineering Management) program. And to date, I believe it’s the worst mistake of my life. I think you should not give a single penny from your hard-earned money to any of the consultants, they are the worst thing in the world. They are here just to milk money. I was under stress the whole time during my application procedure as I could not believe that I paid such a hefty amount just to edit my resume and SOP.

The service they will provide is just to edit your resume and SOP with a little bit of insight like what to add and what not which I believe you can easily get to know with a simple google search as thousands of people are providing all these materials online free of cost. After you are done with your application they will not even care about replying to your messages. You will try contacting them they will reply in days and will ask you to check their CRM portal every time if you ask any questions to them. They will say everything is there on their portal, then you will think I have just paid to access their portal. They will hardly give you any advice. Please make your decision sensibly.

I heard from one of the VISA officers that “I don’t understand why people in India go with the consultants as all the application filing is such an easy process”. The consultant makes it look like it’s not an easy process so that they can charge hefty money from you. If you have a good profile I don’t believe anything in the world can stop you from getting into your dream college, if you don’t then even a consultant can’t do anything.

So, my advice would be if you want to go with any consultant go with either IDP (as they are free) or lead scholar they charge very small amount like 100rs so, that you don’t regret in future.

Is this for MBA or MIM service?

This was MBA service.

Was a pretty seamless experience for me.
Had taken their pack for 4 schools, and have already received 2 admits out of the 4 I applied to, waiting for the last 2. (I applied in R1)

The consultant was pretty helpful, he was an alum from my target school and we had pretty detailed discussions on my profile, strengths, and what really I should be highlighting – was helpful in busting some ideas that I thought were unique to my profile, but apparently were not.

The content discussion calls for each school were also pretty productive and give you a very good idea of how to approach essays and what to write especially in your first draft.

I believe we did about 4-6 revisions for each school here, they did assist me until I was satisfied with the same.

The counsellors were pretty helpful and were there to help me with queries, avoided missing a few deadlines coz of timely followups – so no complaints there.

Here please note that it’s not a done for you service, they guide you and assist you. but you need to put in a fair number of hours.
I had no problem with the same, coz I wanted a personalized application and not a done-for-you template approach – so I was pretty cool with that, and at the end the results speak for themselves.

I have admits from LBS and Insead, awaiting HEC will then decide which to take.
So am pretty happy with the results, and would definitely recommend them if asked.

Have been working with them for the past 3 weeks now and am targeting round 2 deadlines.

On my side, I did do my due diligence before signing up, went through multiple of their YouTube reviews (which I feel are more legit) they also shared multiple reviews of their current and past admits as well

I also got some good referrals from some acquaintances of my Gmat class so all in all it was pretty positive and I decided to move ahead.

Overall I'm pretty happy, the consultant is responsible and knows what he is talking about, have finished 2 schools and now starting out on 3rd, ive had about 3 calls with her so far.

The team is also helpful and gives advice when needed,
its not instant, but replies take a few hours which I believe is normal – I have friends working with other firms which are way worse.

I had about 7 rounds of edits on my first schools essays
For the second one we did about 5, by then they were pretty good.

All in all I am pretty content with my decision to hire them
Response time can be a tad bit better, but its not a big deal as I get all responses in a reasonable time frame

So yes, you can definitely go for them.

That said to close the loop its better to set the record straight and answer the things mentioned by the said person

The only way to get into any good college is effective brainstorming to understand your strengths and weaknesses, knowing what the schools want and then via multiple rounds of revision put the same effectively in your SOPs and Essays
To that end we do brainstorming call, essay analysis calls, share sample essays and offer unlimited rounds of revision until both you and your consultant are happy with the final product
Essays are complicated, they need effort and brainstorming - if you are under the assumption that just because you pay a consultant they will write some thing for you and you don't have to put effort, that wont really work - as schools can check a template based approach from miles away - and can reject you in an instant on the basis of the same.


Please note even before you write the first draft you have had calls with our experienced consultants and we have ideated what to write personalized to your profile - I am sure a google search is a paltry comparison to the same.

While a lot of consulting firms including the ones you mentioned, deal with tier 2 and 3 schools and do a done for you approach - its simple because they deal with low-competition schools which are extremely easy to get into and give commissions to these said consultant to push you towards them (hence you can imagine how "competitive" they would be)
