I gave Exam 1 from mba.com which is available free of cost on registering.

Where to find explanation to wrong answers - Please share Links!!

Which alternative test provider gives explanation ? Does MGMAT tests have explanations while reviewing?

Posted from my mobile device

Exam pack 1 and 2 dont provide explanations for any of the questions. If you want explanations, then the best way is to find the solutions on GMAT club. Type questions on google one by one and search. You will find gmatclub link for every question almost. Then open that link and go through the explanations. I believe every question of exam pack is availble on GMAT club.
Thanks

Hi Queen95,

How did you score on this CAT (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)? I ask because your original study plan was for just 3 weeks, but many Test Takers spend 3 months (or more) of consistent study time before they hit their 'peak' scores. Based on your results - and considering your Score Goal of 700+ - you might need to adjust your plans a bit.

Beyond that question, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on your broader goals:

1) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
2) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

1. My score without any preparation is V28 Q37 (550)
2. No plans to apply until 2 more years
3. Ivy League schools are my intended schools.
4. Plan to reach 700+ is as under:

- OG Practise (3 books: General, Quant and Verbal)
- Giving as many mock tests as I can

I have full time 3 weeks. So can put in many hours.

Hi Queen95,

Since you're not planning to apply to Business School for another 2 years, there is no reason to try to 'cram' your studies into just 3 weeks. The 700+ Score is approximately the 90th percentile, meaning that 90% of Test Takers either CAN'T or WON'T do what it takes to earn that type of Score. The type of 'cramming' that you might be thinking about rarely leads to great results on the GMAT.

In addition, while there are certain aspects to Test Day that you can really only learn by taking realistic, FULL-LENGTH CATs, once you've learned those things, it's important to remember that taking lots of CATs will NOT make you a better Test Taker. A CAT is really a 'measuring device' - when used correctly, it will give you a realistic score and help define your strengths and weaknesses, but it will NOT help you to fix any of those weaknesses. To raise your scores, you have to learn the necessary Tactics and put in the proper practice and repetitions. The CAT will show you whether your studies are helping you to improve or not. As such, you really shouldn't take more than 1 FULL CAT per week (and trying to take 'as many CATs as you can' will ultimately be just a 'waste' of practice CATs).

At this point, we have no idea what YOUR 'peak score' is, but you likely will not hit that level with just 3 weeks of study. Thus, you should consider changing your timeline to give yourself a better shot at this Score Goal.

Hi Queen95,

Since you recently scored a 550, it’s unlikely that you will raise your score by 150+ points in just 3 weeks. Since you are not applying for a number of years, is there a particular reason why you are rushing your GMAT? Would you like some advice on how to create a thorough GMAT study plan?
