Occasional lurker here. I have a question that's been troubling me for a while now and finally made an account hoping to find good answers.
I scored 770 on the GMAT, have a unique work experience, some community work, and am an international student from an under-represented country. However, I have
two misdemeanor DUI convictions from when I was 21 and 23 years old. I am turning 28 later this year, have not gotten into any other run in with the law, and will have both DUIs expunged within the next couple of weeks or so. While some schools like Booth explicitly states that applicants do not have to answer "yes" if the conviction(s) have been expunged, other schools do not say so. Is it in my best interest to answer "no" to every conviction question or should I answer "yes" to schools that do state that I can answer "no" if the conviction(s) have been expunged? Will expunged records show up on the background check later on? Not sure what my best move is, since if expunged records do not show up on background checks then I should not bring up something that happened while I was in college/fresh out of college. I think it's harder to play it off as a mistake when I had two convictions.
Does anyone have any experience regarding issues like this?
