$$\frac{√12}{2}=\frac{√(4*3)}{2}=\frac{√(2^2*3)}{2}=\frac{2√3}{2}=√3$$

In addition to what chetan2u has posted, you could also go with:

$$2=\sqrt{4}$$

$$\frac{√12}{2}=\frac{√12}{√4} =√\frac{12}{4} =\sqrt{3}$$
