Hi all,
I cannot believe that my very first post on GMATclub is actually about how frustrating I am, not because of actual GMAT questions but what I experienced today at a test-center.
I am planning to apply for INSEAD MBA R4, of which the deadline is approaching crazily soon(in 2 weeks). I registered for GMAT official on July 12 (yes I just came back from the test center and started writing this) in Berlin Germany. Anyway, straight to the point - I (and another candidate) had 4 times of technical difficulties and computer/browser does not respond to my choice and just froze. I could not proceed with the next question, and time is still running. Then I raised my hand, and realized that another candidate is also having the same problem. We both could not continue the test because the software/application itself is just not properly responding. Time keeps running, the staff at the center just restarted the computer and waited to check if we can continue. Then we were asked to leave the room, because they cannot solve this issue and had to call PearsonVue customer service. Similar incidents happened at around 36 minutes left of my verbal, 56 minutes and 16 minutes left of my Quant, 26 minutes left of my IR. Each issue took around 10 - 30 minutes, in total we wasted almost 2 hours on waiting, and being extremely disrupted. When we were allowed to be back to the test, we got added back some of the missing time, but I know where I was at, so I ended up losing more time than what they gave me. At the end, I simply could not continue with a clear mind, but worrying that I might not have a better score to apply, I chose to continue to finish the test. All in all, that took me ca. 6 hours to sit in a test center and I was trying to finish that desperate test.
During waiting, the other applicant and I were chatting - will anyone even believe that that actually happened to us?
Undoubtedly, the score is terrible - I don't even want to disclose it. The staff at test center gave us the case numbers of the 4 incidents, the contact number of the customer service and asked us to contact directly. I just hung the phone with one of the customer service, they said they received our requests of being able to reschedule for free and have an earlier appointment (not 16 days) and asked me to wait for the confirmation from GMAC.
Honestly, I am not sure how I should be feeling

- the whole GMAT journey has been exhausting, self-doubting and already stressed out like no good, now adding this on top of my other worries...WTF. I am utterly speechless. I need to talk to someone but except on GMATclub, I guess no one would understand my frustration.
Thanks for reading my hopeless post.
