M confused between B and E.
But will still go WD B as it conveys the point and is concise
Coz of parallelism error we can eliminate C,Aand D
To protect,(to) prevent ,and (to) reduce

I believe it should be B for reasons you already mentioned. E is unnecessarily wordy.

Farmers frequently plant a nurse crop such as oats to protect seedlings from overexposure to the sun, prevent soil erosion, and it reduces growth of weeds.

Here the farmer plants the nurse crop such as oats to do three things:
(i) Protect seedlings from overexposure to the sun
(ii)Prevent soil erosion
(iii)Reduce weed growth

The three functions of nurse crop need to be in a parallel structure, hence the answer is B. The other options fail to do so, hence are wrong.
