Find the coordinates of the point which divides the line joining (5, -2) and (9, 6) internally in the ratio 1 : 3.

(A) (6, 0)
(B) (6, 3)
(C) (0, 6)
(D) (3, 6)
(E) (0, 3)

Imo A

Mid point will be at 7,2

5,-2 .......6,0......7,2......8,4........9,6

1:3 will mean that above will be divided in 4 parts, in which the required point will be nearer to 5,-2

6,0

Quote which i can relate to.

mid point of (5,-2 ) & (9,6) = (7,2)

and mid point of ( 5,-2 ) & ( 7,2) = 6,0
6,0 would divide the line in 1:3 ratio
IMO A

(5,-2)...(6,0)...(7,2)...(8,4)...(9,6)
