So basically, it is asking the increase in between 2 consecutive years as per the trend line,
so before answering such a Question let me introduce you the concept of slope in Trend lines,
The slope tells that, how much one thing (like salary) changes when another thing (like years of experience) increases by 1 unit.
so it is like a ratio or rate { Slope = Rise per unit }
in Co-ordinate words we can say Slope = change in Y/ Change in X aka (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

now coming to the Question in order to find out the increase we can pick any 2 values in the trend line {important Note: while looking for yearly values we will only see the values indicated by trend line and not any particular value for example the 2nd year individual value is 5000 but it's trend line value is near 4500 so we will pick 4500 as we are calculating acc to trend line} for which we are sure of their Y coordinate value,
For year 8 we can see it is 5000 and for year 20 it is 6000, {we can also calculate for year 2 and year 27 but we have to approx those values}
so Slope=(6000-5000)/20-8, so slope=1000/12 which is 83.33 so to nearest 10 it is 80.

For each of the 22 faculty members in a university's statistics department, the graph shows the faculty member's monthly salary, in euros (€), and time since doctorate- the number of years since that faculty member earned his or her doctorate in statistics. The graph also shows a trend line for the data.

From each drop-down menu, select the option that creates the most accurate statement based on the information provided.

The trend line suggests that, for a faculty member whose time since doctorate is at least 2 years, each 1-year increase in time since doctorate corresponds to an increase, to the nearest €10, of monthly salary.

For the faculty member whose monthly salary is greatest, the time since doctorate is years.

The options for the first blank are 40, 80, 120 euros, according to the official mock test.

It may not be a big deal but I was torn between 80 and 120 when taking the mock test.

always thanks!
