Ben - 1$
David - 0.75$
For each Bagel, Ben paid 0.25$ extra.
Then the total bagel Ben bought = 12.5/0.25 = 50 and the money spent = 50$
Then david spent = 3/4*50 = 37.5$

Total = 50+37.5 = 87.5$

C is the answer.

IMO C


Money spent by david = x

so money sppent by ben = x+12.5

Now (x+12.5)*.75 = x ( David sepnt 25 cents less , means Davind spend 75% of Ben )

solving this we get x = 87.5

ben spends 1 $, davin spends 0.75 $
so for 12.5 $ , Ben ; 12.5/.25 = 50$ and 50 *.75 = 37.5
so total amount 50+37.5 ; 87.5
