total cost to foúr people = $80 + 0.15 * 80 ( waiters tip) = $92
cost to each person as they contribute equal amount = \(92/4\) = $23 B

Since the calculation we're asked to do is straightforward, we'll just do it.
This is a Precise approach.

One way calculate is as shown above: the total is 80 +15% = 80 * 1.15 = 80 * (1 + 0.1 + 0.05) = 80 + 8 + 4 = 92 and dividing this by 4 gives 13.

An easier way to calculate is to look at each person individually:
Each paid a bill of 80/4 = 20 and 15% of 20 is 3. So each person paid 20 + 3 = $23.

(B) is our answer.
