Hello everyone, I took the GMAT for the first time in August 2009 and scored 580 that demoralized me a lot. After that, I strictly followed a well-planned schedule to prepare for my second hit. I kept on solving as many mock tests as possible regardless of the reviews about their reflectiveness of the real test. Be sure that GmatPrep is the most realistic mock test. Following are the resources I used during my preparation:

*Cracking the GMAT
*Official Guide 12th edition
*Kaplan premier 2008-2009
*GMAT 800
*GmatPrep
*1000 Sentence Correction
*1000 Reading Comprehension
*1000 Critical Reasoning
*Kaplan 800
*Princeton Verbal Workout
*Powerscore CR
*Manhattan Gmat Sc, MGMAT Cr

After studying for the retake, I noticed that I had had numerous deficiencies verbally. What I advise to increase your Verbal Score in the way I did is to read as much as possible. ( verbal score from 23 to 45 ) While reading newspapers will help you with RC, reading books will significantly help you with SC. Yesterday, I took the test and was thinking of canceling my score but thanks god, I did not. I got 730. There is not a lot to say. So I would like to thank everyone for sharing experiences and good luck!

Congratulations on the great improvement! especially the verbal score...

Can you share the secret of the verbal improvement apart from the reading stuff ?

thanx for congratulating. I used Kaplan 2008-2009, OG10, McGrawHill s GMAT and Cliff GMAT for my previous attempt. Do NOT use McGrawhill's and Cliff's books. They are completely USELESS.
By the way, because I am on a business trip in Istanbul ,totally frozen from head to toe, I will tell you many more things including my study plan and what I did to improve my verbal score once I have some time.
