Re: Gauging realistic chances [#permalink]
With no firm GMAT, this is all speculation of course. But assuming a 720 with a reasonable Q score, I would say this:

Auto-Ding: Stanford, MIT, Berkeley
Super Reach: Wharton, Booth
Reasonable Reach: NYU, Kellogg
Optimal: Columbia, Duke, Michigan, UVA, UCLA, USC
Safety: UNC, Notre Dame

My top recommendation would be apply to Columbia ED.

dont listen to anyone who says auto ding. EVER.
we've all seen enough to know that while the odds may be against you people with less than optimal profiles are getting into every single school on your list.

Hes right about the other stuff though

Re: Gauging realistic chances [#permalink]
abhattac,

I participated in the same Big 4 sponsored, fully paid for, MSA program at the same top tier private university in the Midwest, and just completed the application process (will be heading to Tuck in the fall).

Aside from being South Asian, our profiles were similar. My advice would be to get a 700+ on the GMAT and then focus on framing your essays to put a big emphasis on leadership and to focus on your successes within your professional life.

Just wanted to let you know that it can be done. Good Luck!
