Hi Rhy1399,

To score at a high level on the GMAT, you have to have a variety of skills (more than just content knowledge) and the only way to properly assess whether you have those skills or not is to take FULL-LENGTH CATs under realistic conditions AND at regular intervals. If you have any built-in 'bad habits' when it comes to taking a Test, we need to know about those issues sooner rather than later (so that we have more time to 'fix' them).

If you've been studying for 4 months, then you really MUST take a FULL-LENGTH CAT (including the Essay and IR sections) sometime soon (perhaps this weekend). That initial diagnostic CAT is important - it helps to define your current strengths and weaknesses and gives you a basis for comparison as you continue to study. Most Test Takers are not happy with that first CAT result, but that's not a big deal - the extra months of available study time are there so that you can IMPROVE on this initial practice result. You can access 2 CATs for free at www.mba.com. Once you have your Score, you should post back here and we can discuss the results and how you might best proceed with your studies.

In addition, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What is your overall goal score?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi Rhy1399,

Your stats in TTP are great! Out of curiosity, why don't you give our verbal materials a try?

I am done with the quant part preparation which I have done through TTP. I had a few queries regarding this:
- My accuracy with problem solving is 92% but with data sufficiency: 72%. Is this a major concern? My overall accuracy is around 87%.
- I have not taken a single mock in 4 month GMAT prep because I am not at all prepared with the verbal section, also I feel giving the mocks unprepared will be a waste of the resource. Is this approach correct?
- Now I plan to start the verbal preparation, I am a non native speaker. I plan to do SC with Manhattan and CR with powerscore CR bible. I would love other recommendations for my prep. I am very bad with sentence correction and average with CR. I really need to improve my verbal. I did try to understand a few topics from both books but I just could not grasp it. What do I do?

Hi Rhu1399,

Give the mocks only after you are done with the entire preparation. Keep taking quizzes to keep the momentum going. And regarding the verbal, you can try using GMATWhiz course because I personally used it and improved my score from 26 to 38. That has a very good framework for CR.
