Both schools are good and have decent networks in the DC area. It'd would be in your best interest financially to take the offer from Maryland, especially since you have a kid. Moreover, the area is expensive. So the less money out of pocket, the better. What are your specific pros and cons of each program? I am applying to both schools, so hopefully I will face the same decision in the spring.
The biggest pro for Georgetown is higher ranking and stronger brand, which will be important if I changed my plan to leave the DC area. If I went to Maryland, I would save money up front; however, in the long run I feel that lifetime earnings will be less.
Both are regional schools, strong in federal consulting, smallish programs ( GT ~280 and Maryland ~90).
Am I over thinking this?
