Hi Jainmehak1603,

You would likely receive more of a response if you started your own post-thread (instead of piggy-backing on this old one). Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Thank you so much for your reply.
I have been preparing for my gmat for 3 months now. I have completed the gmat official guide and have also practiced extra material for quant (700-800 level questions)specifically because i am a bit weak at math. I took my mocks once in december, then in February 1st week and 2 last week. I am scoring 640, 650, 680 now with Q48 V31 and Q38 V39. I am unable to complete my quant section sometimes and sometimes i panic, that’s why the fluctuations. I have given mocks on expert’s global.

My goals:
I want a score of 750.
I will give my gmat once i am able to score around my aim, preferably by march second week.
I’ll complete my graduation this year, so i am aiming for deferred MBA programs and MiM programs in the best colleges.

There’s not really that much value in going past the 40. The difficulty of going from the 42V to V45 is probably 10 times more than going from the V37 to the 40.

Hi Jainmehak1603,

You can definitely take your Verbal score past 40. But to suggest you what to work on and how to proceed, I would like to know a few details about the way you prepared till now, your weak areas and the approach you use to solve questions. This information will help me understand your concerns and guide you in a better way.

I think it would be much better if we can connect over a call and have a detailed discussion on the same. You can use the below link to et in touch with me.

I don't understand this Jainmehak1603. You have given three GMAT scores in your post, but have provided splits of only two tests (Q48 V31 and Q38 V39). Also, the volatility that you are experiencing in your scores, is immense (Q48 in one test and Q38 in the other! Similarly, V31 in one test and V39 in another).

Usually, such kind of an immense variation is not a good news, and is generally indicative of significant conceptual gaps. Which resources have you used for preparation (apart from official guides)?

It does seem that you are currently quite far off from your goal of 750.
