After I signed up for the mba application, I got an email from Mr. Conrad Chua offering to have a 30 minute chat. Is this common amongst applicants ? What are the chances of you getting in when this happens. I know theres no causal link but is there a correlation ?

amirimran95 This is a fantastic opportunity to express your interest in the program and make a great first impression. Business schools are looking for potential applicants to connect with the admissions office, campus ambassadors, and former students to get a sense of which applicants are genuinely interested in understanding the school's offerings and participating in the program.
In the pre-application school research phase, applicants often reach out to and speak with schools and alums to develop an understanding of their own skills and abilities and how a particular school can connect applicants with industry players and career paths that might interest them. You do not necessarily have to impress the adcom by asking questions before applying but a sincere interest in understanding the school's specific culture, hiring opportunities, and your profile strength can make you appear a strong applicant. And, of course, this conversation can give you plenty of talking points for your applications and interviews—most successful converts also actively network in the early stages of the application process.
The way you present the learnings and insights from all these interactions in your applications and illustrate how your skills and abilities match the requirements of the B-school, and those of the target employers will prove to be very successful in the applications and eventually in the industry recruitment.
Best wishes
