Thank you guys for the advice! I decided to retake the GMAT. It's not gonna be fun for another month but I think it will pay off at the end.

Nice to hear about your decision.

I would also suggest you a small yet effective way to highlight your verbal skills.

When you seek recommendations from your referees, you might ask them to highlight your communication skills at work - both written ( may be if you have additional responsibility to publish some reports/periodicals etc) and verbal ( how you are an effective communicator) , trust me it works.

I am not saying this step will help you offset low gmat score, but this step will help you stand out if two or more profiles are compared.

good luck

I agree with the above posters that you will need to retake the GMAT.

You vs. The Numbers

Mason SOM
Your GMAT is in the median at Mason among the app pool for the last incoming class, and between the 25th and median percentiles among incomings. Given your high GPA, you should have a great shot here, and an even better shot if you're a Virginia, because Mason SOM gives true in state tuition rates.
the 10-25-50-75-90th percentile for apps: 460-510-590-610-640
the 10-25-50-75-90th percentile for incoming: 560-580-610-630-660

Georgetown
Your GMAT is right above the 25th percentile among the app pool, but below the 10th percentile among incomings at Georgetown. Given that your GPA is above average, it will compensate for a below average GMAT, but it's not going to be easy.
the 10-25-50-75-90th percentile for apps: 520-580-640-680-710
the 10-25-50-75-90th percentile for incoming: 610-640-660-690-710

Extra Note: I have applied already to G-Town in Round 1 for part time and got WL'ed with a 640 but my GPA is lower than yours. they do allow GMAT retakes for WL'ers and I got it up to 660 (the average), so it can't hurt me for Round 2, but I'm also at peace that G-Town is a dream myself. I also posted a GMAT experience post regarding it, link below. You may want to see if G-Town will let you retake before a R2 decision, especially if you had better verbal scores in practice than what you got on the real thing.

Your GMAT is right above the median for both the app pool and incoming students. You should have a great shot for admission here for both their Accelerated and Flex MBA's.
the 10-25-50-75-90th percentile for apps: 450-510-570-640-670
the 10-25-50-75-90th percentile for incoming: 470-530-580-630-660

Closing notes
If you are in "Georgetown or bust" mode, see if adcom will let you retake before a decision is made for R2 (the 2nd round deadline was on April 15), but I doubt they will let you re-take at this point and have that score considered before the decision date. My supplemental material was also on that same date.

If you get an interview invite in the next several weeks, that's good news, because they like your app at this point. If you get waitlisted in R2, I'm sure they'll let you retake the test, but the chances to get off the WL are lower, because there are no rounds left. In that case, maybe you should reapply for Fall 2013 admission and with a higher GMAT in the 600's. With your GPA, you probably don't have to have above 650, but in my case I pretty much had to hit the average on the GMAT at least because my GPA is lower.

I think your stats, most notably the GPA put you in good position to get into most if not all the other schools without much difficulty. good luck! I hope you get in everywhere you apply!
