GMAT 690, 6 years work ex,

Question

I Am standing on the edge ... with 690 in my basket.

A work ex of 6 years , all of it in power sector , am keen to do an MBA from India. What are my Chances for ISB 2016 Intake ?

If you are not thinking about retaking, then you should start with your application process. Think about the essay prompts and highlight your strengths and look how to portray it better.

Till now , i wasn't thinking of retaking it, considering the Industry i am in.

& though my score is a slight below average, my thought was my profile will compensate it .

Shall I retake GMAT?

This question is dicey. Higher GMAT score doesn't guarantee anything. You can take my example in that regard.

On the hind-side, there are multiple converts in the range 670-690 in ISB this year. So crux of the matter is positioning your skills and what you bring on the table is quite important.

There are people who make it to ISB with 690 (and even lower scores) every year. As you come from the power sector, you do have some differentiation. Other than that, though, there is not enough information you have provided to really take a call on this. Your academic performance, work performance, leadership experience, and extracurricular talents and achievements, all matter. If you are from a PSU, that helps further.

That looks decent. Vedanta is a well known metals and mining firm. You have experience spanning multiple functions and team leadership experience as well. Clear career goals and a strong connect with ISB (in your essays and app) is what is needed and you should have a good shot.
