Just like GRE, does GMAT also follows adaptive nature? If i select (V-Q-IR-AWA) then does the performance in the first section (i.e. verbal) affects the difficulty level of questions in the next section (i.e. quant)?

Vasupatel77,
GMAT is also adaptive in nature. But it doesn't affect your sectional knowledge.
Basically GMAT has three sections:-
Quantitative
Verbal Reasoning
Integrated Reasoning
Analytical Writing Assessment.
Each of the section is evaluated individually and GMAT generates the raw score for each section.
These raw scores are evaluated and generates. So called GMAT Score.
GMAT Score is measured on a scale of 800.
Raw Score of each section is different.
Quantitative - Raw score scales from 0 -51
Verbal Reasoning - Raw score scales from 0 -51
Integrated Reasoning - Raw score scales from 0 -8
Analytical Writing Assessment. Raw score scales from 0 -6.
Lower Limit is lowest possible score and highest limit is the highest possible one could score in the section.
Both Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning scores are evaluated to generate a score of 800.
Remaining sections are used by B Schools to assess the Student capabilities.
To be precise, GMAT is not adaptive from one section to another.
However, Final score that an individual gets is based on his performance in both the section.
One can score very well in Quantitative say 47. And probably worst in Verbal - 15. He may end up getting ~500 out of 800 on the GMAT.
So to get the best score one should do well in both the section of GMAT.
Hope it helps!!
