Thank you for your response to my last essay! DavidTutorexamPAL MagooshExpert (Carolyn) gvij2017. Please share your views on this essay too. Is the length of the essay sufficient? (around 270 words) or how long should it be ideally?

Question :

The following appeared as part of an article in a daily newspaper:
"The computerized on-board warning system that will be installed in commercial airliners will virtually solve the problem of midair plane collisions. One plane's warning system can receive signals from another's transponder--a radio set that signals a plane's course--in order to determine the likelihood of a collision and recommend evasive action."

As reported by the author in the article, the new on-board computerized warning system will solve the problem of midair plane collisions maybe true but is not supported strongly by any evidence. The flaws of the statement can be in three major ways as follows:

Firstly, the author strongly states that midair plane collisions would not occur after the new computerized on-board warning system will be installed. This statement lacks no further supporting statements. The major responsibility of any airline is to transport its passengers from one place to another safely, there has been no safety tests or simulation of the new software mentioned. The claim would have been considered strong if there would have been any safety drill carried out.

Secondly, the article fails to explain the technology in more detail the problem of air plane collision being solved virtually. Although it states that the planes will transmit the signal through a transpoder, it lacks a statistical data of the trial demonstrated. There is no information reported about the accuracy of radio signal transmission.

Thirdly, there is a missing data about the current number of collision and how will it effect on the working of the pilot. Is the technology user-friendly or is there a need of a proper training. This point should have been under consideration for the proposed technology.

Hence, the Conclusion for this critique, the computerized on-board warning system can prove to be beneficial provided that the above points are taken into consideration and worked strategically for the elimination of collision and smooth functioning of the transport.
