Friends,
There is an
MDAS toggle button in the
GMAT Calculator Simulator, which I believe does not exist in the actual GMAT calculator. The MDAS (Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtraction) toggle button determines whether calculations will follow the order of operations or be calculated continuously.
When MDAS is on, the order of operations will be followed. For example, 3 + 2 * 5 = 13, as the multiplication is calculated before the addition.
When MDAS is off, a subtotal will be calculated and displayed continuously as calculations are entered. For example, 3 + 2 * 5 = 25, as the operations are calculated in the order they are entered.
What method does the actual GMAT calculator use? If anyone has taken the official mock tests or the actual GMAT, could you enlighten us on what mode we should use to become familiar with the calculator that is going to appear on the test ?
Thanks!
