GMAT Club Essay Reviews 2017

It is that time of the year again. With the R1 deadlines looming for most schools, we bring to you the best free essay reviewing help on the forum. Welcome to the GMAT Club essay review project - your go to guide for essay writing help, edits, and the best practice playground before the business school application deadline sets in.

Over the next few weeks, we will take submissions from users on the forum on generic essay topics (think the last five years of top business school applications), and post reviews for all to see and learn from. The awesome folks at CriticalSquare and @Admissionado have decided to take some time from their busy consulting calendar to review one essay every week and publish it on the forum.

How it will benefit potential MBA applicants

  • Users will get feedback on their essays by experts for free.
  • Users will also be able to do follow up on the thread for advice and strategy and how to make the essays better.
  • We are also looking into product giveaways for best essays. Keep subscribed to this thread for more information in the next few days.

If you are looking at R2, here is a list of essays to start with

What are your career aspirations and why? How will you get there? (300 word limit).
What are your three most substantial accomplishments and why do you view them as such? (600-word limit)
Give us an example of a situation in which you displayed leadership. (500 word maximum)
Describe a situation taken from your personal or professional life where you failed. Discuss what you learned. (400 words maximum)
What is something people will find surprising about you?
Describe a time when you were surprised by feedback that you received. What was the feedback and why were you surprised?
Describe a time when you wish you could have retracted something you said or did. When did you realize your mistake and how did you handle the situation?
Tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you learned from that experience.
What matters most to you, and why?

As you can see from the list that the essays are selected to be as generic as possible so as to help you writing essays when you actually start with your applications in the coming weeks. If you desperately want us to review an essay that is not included in the list, feel free to drop me a PM, and I can try to squeeze it in. If you want to suggest another generic-ish essay for us to include, please let us know as well :-)

Finally, we cannot promise reviews all essay submissions that we get, but within limits, we will try to get you covered, and let you know in advance when our weekly/monthly quota is over!

Sounds great. How do I submit the essay?

Alright! Now we are talkin! Please paste your selected prompt and the essay at
