GMAT Club is the premier and leading community for GMAT test-takers and Business School applicants, attracting millions of unique visitors each year. GMAT Club has many iconic products that were developed over the years such as GMAT Club Tests, MBA Spotlight Fairs, YouTube series with GMAT Ninja, Bunuel expert posts, Decision Tracker, GMAT Club Reviews, Mobile Apps, and many others. All of these projects were a result of our community collaboration and engagement. GMAT Club Pre-MBA Internship is your opportunity to make a lasting impact, get valuable experience managing high-visibility products that will be used by thousands of users each month, and finally, help make MBA applications a better experience for everyone! Previously released products: Forum Quiz, UI New Member Journey Page, New Chat UI, MBA App Store, and others.

Goals:
1. Improve user experience on GMAT Club
2. Leverage the strength and diversity of our members in shaping GMAT Club’s future
3. Provide a pre-MBA internship opportunity with real Product Management Experience to help with career transition
4. Create a safe environment to experiment, try things out, improve, and even fail
5. Create more opportunities for GMAT Club users to get involved in decision-making, management, and execution

Pre-MBA Internship Overview:
• You will be responsible for setting the strategy and determining the growth path of your product.
• You will get to see and experience how GMAT Club works behind the scenes. You will work with GMAT Club’s founder, moderator team, developers, and designers.
• You will be conducting research such as user surveys, interviews, etc to identify user segments and develop a strategy for multiple profiles.
• You will decide the pace of your product. You will be the decision maker when it comes to the time and task at hand. There are no set hours.
• Internship Timeframe: 3-4 months
• Estimated workload: 10-15 hrs/week on average. (some weeks it may be 20 and some only 5); no set hours. This is not intended as a full-time job.
• During the internship you will have an appropriate title on the Forums identifying you as a PM for a specific project.
• At the end of the Internships, you will receive a stipend of $1,500, experience letter, reference, and a LinkedIN recommendation from GMAT Club.

Requirements:
1. You must have an R1 Admit, WL or R2 Interview Invite.
2. Must be done with the GMAT.
3. There are no citizenship/location requirements. No age, gender, or other restrictions – everyone is welcome to apply.
4. You can apply for up to 2 positions at a time (Primary and Backup)

PM Projects Available:

1. Error Log - this internship will focus on upgrading the existing Error Log product on GMAT Club. Improving features such as reporting/analytics as well as potentially combining GMAT Club Tests and Forum Quiz Error logs into one. The internship will require conducting a survey, conducting interviews with product users, building a business case, working with UI and development teams to deploy upgrades. Finally, marketing and promotion of the product after launch.

2. GMAT/GRE Integration - this internship will focus on developing a strategy for integration of GMAT Club's GRE Prep Club property back into the site and evaluating pros and cons of multiple options. The goal would be to improve the offering presented to the GRE test takers as well as transitioning current users to a better platform (focusing on building a business case, transition plan, communication and messaging, and finally launch)

3. Reviews - this internship will focus on upgrading the UI of GMAT Club reviews, making product more useful, and improving experience for both those who contribute and those who check the reviews. Your job will be to evaluate several opportunities for adding value to the Reviews Product and finding the best ROI. After definitng the scope of your internship, you will work with the UI team to develop the pages and then oversee implementation, testing and rollout with the development team. You will learn the process of upgrading, releasing, staging, and testing.

4. GMAT Club Marketing - this internship is quite different from the rest. You are unlikely to build one product but rather work on a strategy of how to better consider GMAT Traffic (esp those who are not registered users) and how to best engage, convince and convert these users into registered members. One of the tasks you will have is analyzing current traffic patterns and inter-connection of pages). Second, your responsibility will be making sure that GMAT Club is not shoving sales or marketing content down to the users but instead is helpful, useful, and helpfully convenient. Good eyes, good communication skills, and strong interest in marketing are required. The project is pretty vague on purpose as it can take several directions depending on the intern's strengths and background.

Internships Update:

We are adding one more Pre-MBA internship position for a " GMAT Club Marketing " project. This one would have some additional requirements that would require/strongly desire some strong background in Quant, Marketing, or Similar areas.

I will add it to the list on the application form later on today.

Hello everyone!

We are in phase 2 of the Product Internship Selection Process. 
If you have not heard from me with an invitation for Phase 2, that means unfortunately you were not chosen. 
I am terribly sorry about this - we have had 44 applicants for 4 positions and that has put me into a very uncomfortable situation where I have to choose only 4 out candidates.

My suggestion for future applicants and for those who have not made it - make sure your deliverable is done well. You did not have to do much for this application - attach a resume was 30 seconds and the video required actual work. Some have not put in much thought and approached it as a pass/fail but it showed your workmanship and your approach to it. Make sure you put effort into your deliverables!

I am excited to welcome  Ivy17  as the PM for GMAT Club Reviews. Ivy17 is most likely heading to HEC Paris this Fall for their MBA. 
I am also excited to welcome  Lure1415  as the Error Log PM. Lure1415 is most likely heading to Darden this Fall for their MBA.

Thank you everyone who has applied - I really appreciate your interest and effort you have put into your applications. Everyone is dinged from some of their internships. Get read to be dinged a lot as a matter of fact or not ever hear back. That is unfortunately a very usual and unrewarding outcome of many applications. One of the biggest lessons I would encourage you to take out is that if you did not get chosen, that may be for a fair or a completely stupid reason. But this chance always exists when you are applying for a job or an internship, so you always must have multiple applications happening and going on. No matter how you feel a job is idea for you - it can always fall through. You always need to have many irons in the fire!
