I got very panic after Quants. How can i improve in next attempt?

Hi Abhinav_1696,

Welcome to GMATCLUB! I think you should focus most of your attention on Verbal. To improve your scores in verbal , you can consider e-gmat verbal online or the e-gmat verbal live course. They are both amazing courses especially designed for non-natives. They offer almost 25% of their courses for free so you can try out their free trial to decide which one you want to go for. Plus the e-gmat Scholaranium which is included in both the courses is one of the best verbal practice tools in the market. You can easily track your progress in that you can identify your strengths and analyze and improve on your weak areas.

Further taking multiple mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP, Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.

Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practice tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.

I would also encourage you to purchase the GMATPREP QP 1 for some great additional practice. Further you should also consider LSAT Questions for some great RC and CR practice.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Hi Abhinav_1696,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Knowing nothing about your preparation and background, I can only go with what you have written. All of the following suggestions are meant to be constructive:

Your written, and perhaps spoken, language is poor. There are multiple fundamental errors in your writing above.

This suggests that before you can even think of mastering GMAT Verbal, you must improve your verbal and language skills more generally. That means avenues such as structured English language courses, English as spoken and written language and formal courses in English may be valuable to you. Many places offer weeks- and months-length courses at all hours of the day and night.

Once you have mastered the above to some extent, you can think of mastering GMAT verbal. The latter is a different kind of challenge. Not only will it test your fundamental language skills, but more importantly, it will combine tests of logical and analytical skills mixed with language skills.

While total mastery of the English language is not fully necessary to score high in the verbal section, at your level, this may be perhaps the quickest and most efficient way to attain mastery in verbal ability.

The good news is that plenty of testtakers have done well in this section even though many started with poor skills.

And lastly, if you master this section, you will be able to naturally control your anxiety and the like. All of this will involve much work in the beginning, but going through this formal process will save much time and energy later on.

Try to give Verbal First and Follow the timing Strategy, as there are 36 Questions and 65 mins You have 9 Mins for every 5 questions. So simply write like

Q5-56 mins
Q10-47 mins
Q15-38 mins
Q20-29 mins
Q25-20 mins
Q30-11 Mins
Q36-2 mins

and try to stay within 2-3 mins of each timing. If you are not within timining Guess the Question and move forward, Better to Guess 1 in every 5 than to rush in the end.
