I started off with a 575 in e-gmat Sigma X mock. In my first attempt I scored 655, took 2 months for prep and finally scored 695. I have only used e-gmat resources and OG for my entire preparation. =11ptI have enrolled with e-gmat in August 2023 and being a new mom (8 month old daughter) I was not able to give my 100% to preparation but I managed to complete the entire course by Dec 23. I gave my first attempt in Jan’24 with a score of 655. I made alternate caregiver arrangements to my baby and went on to perfect my prep in 2 months.
Brief profile
I am an Indian female with 10 years of experience in Oil & gas sector (4 years in Refinery maintenance and 6 years in procurement/Supply chain management). I am aiming at M7 schools in the US and currently working on my admits.
Quant
Verbal
Though Pre-thinking might seem laborious and not practical to do in 2 mins time slot for a question, diligent practice over time will make you fit this activity in the time slot. What really helped me in CR is I never timed myself during practice and I have adopted PT to arrive at as many possible scenarios as I can. I also picked up any missing scenarios discussed in the solutions video. Delving on these multiple scenarios will help you to come up with many falsification scenarios in the actual test while you are reading the question itself. In RC, “Master comprehension module” is a savior that made a turnaround in my prep. Pausing at regular intervals, noting down important points is the key skill to perform in RC. These are very well explained in one of Rajat’s webinar where he explained how to read like a manager.
Data Insights
I started DI section with a lot of speculation after going through other’s experiences. I was very low on confidence initially but by the end of the course I realized that the skill set required to ace DI is a combination of comprehension/visualization techniques mastered in Verbal section plus employing the structured approach mastered in Quant section. Mastering verbal and quant sections is sufficient to ace DI.

E-gmat team was kind enough to offer me a scholarship for their esteemed LMP program where you are assigned to a mentor and he/she oversees your prep and ensure that you are taking the right path. I could not make full use of this support for my first attempt but it really made a difference for my second attempt. My mentors Payal and Rida have analyzed my skills from my Scholaranium attempts, mock tests, actual GMAT test and formulated a very meticulous plan for my improvement. Following this plan has helped me reach the 98th percentile in my second attempt.

All the mentors were very supportive by providing clarifications within 2 working days and their clarifications were so spot on that they cover your queries from a holistic perspective leaving no room for further questions

Mock tests
I have attempted 6 official mocks and 2 e-gmat mocks. Apart from understanding how you are timing yourself, the most important learning for me during the mock tests was that your performance in the previous section shall not impact your next section/questions. I did this mistake in 2 of my mock tests and faced the same situation in my final exam as well. I was not happy with my DI section and this was going on in my mind when I moved to the final Quant section (I was shocked to see DI at 94th percentile at the end of my exam). As a result I was not able to solve 3rd question in Quant which added to my anxiety. Then there was a network disruption for almost 15 mins and the test was paused. My experience during mock tests has given me valuable lessons with which I was able to sail through Quant section and achieve a perfect 100 percentile.

Similarly, I am really happy that you approached learning Prethinking the right way. This skill will serve you greatly during your MBA and even beyond that. I also want to thank you for listing many best practices in your debrief, including building ability first before focusing on timing.
Two things stood out to me:
Focus on Learning: Your score was driven by your focus on learning rather than on timing and results. The more you learned, the better you scored.
Not judging yourself: You discovered that it is important that we do not judge ourselves during the test. If you're getting hard questions, it's because the test sees your potential—even if you might doubt it at times
