I am not saying you should shell out a lot of money… but it makes it a lot easier if you can at least get some books…

You can see this post for some ideas:

Hi,
I understand your concern. I went through the same challenge. Start with verbal- GMAT Ninja CR & RC videos are your saviour. All of them! Do not miss any video for CR and RC and then be sure to solve questions using the forum. For Quant get the Manhattan guides. ( Download the pdf online)
For SC, Download the Veritas skill builder guide and then solve questions using the Ready4GMAT app and the GMAT forum.
And never NEVER.....even in the darkest hour of your test prep, let the thought that you didn't sign up for an online prep company become an excuse. It's important, you don't fall into that trap of a mentality.
I genuinely believe that less is more and you can do whatever you wish to with what you have. Bear in mind that too many resources can also hinder someone's progress by overwhelming them. So, a mix of different resources isn't a bad thing at all.
May the GMAT Gods be with you.
All the best, my friend!
