I’ve been slacking on my preparation for the past two months. Because of long work hours, I had to stop preparing altogether. It feels like I’m cheating myself by thinking that I’ll somehow get the score one day without putting in the work.
I also feel like I don’t have the drive or motivation anymore. I’m currently following GMAT Ninja 13-Week Study Plan. On top of that, I’m not able to complete the weekly homework within a week — it’s taking me almost a month. How do I fix this?
How do I make myself accountable? Can anyone share how they know they’re on the right track? How do you keep track of your preparation?
Hey! First off, this feeling is quite common among prep students. One thing you need to ask yourself is how serious you are about getting an MBA and what career path you want going forward. Once you have clarity on that, you’ll need to make some hard choices around what to prioritize today to achieve it.
I feel that it’s difficult to get the best of all worlds together. Some people manage work and prep well, but then personal or family time usually takes a hit, so eventually something gives. This is very subjective, but do think about what’s important to you right now and how that could shape your future.
Skipping prep or finding excuses is always easy, I’ve done it enough times myself too. But the things I’ve stayed serious and consistent with have mostly given good returns. If you keep doing your part diligently, results usually follow, not just for GMAT but almost anything you genuinely put your mind toward.
