Hi GMATclub community,
I am taking the Online GMAT soon and was wondering if ear-plugs are allowed during the exam? While I have done some research and found some posts citing information on GMAC's website that earplugs aren't allowed, I have not been able to find that policy on GMAC's website. I am thinking that with the recent changes that took effect on May 20th, they might allow earplugs now. I live on a noisy street in the middle of a major city and get distracted by noises easily.

Hi. Welcome to GMAT Club.
You are not allowed to use earplugs on GMAT online. They can only be used at the test center.
PS. I don’t see why they would be changing the policy after May 20. I don’t think anything has changed significantly that would contribute to an update to the policy. I will try to see if I can find it on their site. It’s a good question

Here is what it says you can have:
While testing:
1. The only items, other than your personal computer you may have within reach during your exam are the following:
Your ID
Prescription eyeglasses
One (1) handheld erasable whiteboard (no larger than 12 inches x 20 inches (30 cm x 50 cm)
Up to two (2) dry erase markers
One (1) dry erase whiteboard eraser
Comfort items ONLY if they were pre-approved as accommodations received in advance
