Yes, rx10 is correct. Moving your lips to mouth the words will result in a warning from the proctor; further infractions can result in a score cancellation. Keep in mind that when the proctor interrupts (even the first time), you will likely become more self-conscious and tense, the opposite of what you need to maximize your score. If you need to keep yourself from moving your lips, you might want to try biting the tip of your tongue (not too hard, of course). It is kind of hard to mouth words when the front of your mouth is sealed shut in such a manner.

Good luck with your studies.

Hi A quick question on GMAT online I read on GMAC website that talking isn't allowed on GMAT online, does that mean we can't move our lips? I was accompanied in Reading the rc out! My test is scheduled for next week if any previous test taker comments are much appreciated.

What you read is true. So, since you have a week left before your GMAT, start practicing that way, so you are used to it by test day.

Hi akhi1996 & prateekchugh,

The issue here is ultimately about 'Exam security.' If you are reading out-loud, then you could potentially be recording content from the Test and/or asking someone for help. One of the direct ways to keep those issues from occurring is to make sure that Test-takers are NOT speaking out-loud. While it might be inconvenient to adjust your approach at this point (especially if you have been studying a certain way for some time), I'd like to believe that you are both capable of reading text without moving your lips or reading aloud. If you need time to get in the habit of working that way, then you might need to consider pushing back your At-home Test Date.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Yes, read carefully without moving your lips and/or opening your mouth.

All the best!
