Hi,

I have a question which test should I take, the GRE or the GMAT?

I believe I can reach a good score for the Quantitative section, but I am struggling a lot with verbal.

I did the two practice tests (GRA and GMAT) and my scores were:

GRE:
V - 135
Q- 156

GMAT
V - 12I
Q - 39

Could you guys help me?

I am very familiar with the GMAT test, but I did not start my studies for GMAT or GRE. I've heard a lot that the GRE is much easier than the GMAT. But, I have seem that the GRE is much more unforgiving than the GMAT.

My goal for the GMAT would be 650 or some score equivalent for the GRE.

Thank you in advance,

Daniel

Hi
GRE is said to be easier than the Gmat, but it depends from person to person. Those with a mind bent more towards Quant, feel easier to give the Gmat, while others prefer the GRE. GRE tests the Verbal more and both have different syllabus. Based on this, you can decide which one to take.

Thank you. Which would be easier for the verbal? GRE or GMAT? I have very difficulty with the Verbal. Which tests Would I have more space of improvement? I know that the GRE is more unforgiving than the GMAT.

Could you give more about your opinion on these two tests?

Thank you in advance,

Daniel

Hi danielgrossmann,

Based on your prior posts, I'm hoping that you can clarify a few things:

You stated that you are "very familiar" with the GMAT and that the GRE is "more unforgiving" than the GMAT. Since you have not studied for either Test, can you go into a bit more detail about what you think/know about those issues (and the source(s) of that knowledge).

I am not studying for the tests yet. The knowledge that I have on the Gmat is only for its structure and types of questions. About being more unforgiving for the GRE test, I read in some study online that I did. I do not remember which one, but I remember that was a trusted source.

I just googled it, and I found this link: https://depts.washington.edu/foster/gmat-vs-gre/

There you can see that the GRE is more unforgiving. I found other sources as well.

GRE is not easier than the GMAT. It is just different with astonishingly difficult Verbal section.
