1. D - the sentence is clear and concise

2. D - specially is preferred (I guess) compared with "especially" (similar to maybe vs perhaps)
and "it" properly refers to SO2. Also, to acid rain || to deal.

I think you meant answer to the first question is C. In the link that you yourself have posted C is given as the OA.
