Hi guys, I just took the GMAT this morning and scored Q49, V41 but the total score is only 720. I had the same section scores after taking GMAT Prep but the total score is 740. I also checked with the score matrix of GMAT Club and 49-41 comes out as 730. Are there any other factors that may affect the total score? Thank you, Katie
congrats on the score - yes, it is possible to have the same section scores but different final score (no other factors). it is covered in this post: how-does-the-gmat-algorithm-work-120297.html
look for this: 8. I took the GMAT and got a 710, 44q/44v/6 AWA. A friend of mine happened to take the test 6 days later and get the exact same quant/verbal scaled scores but he got a 720. How this could happen?
You should be happy that you scored a 720, in my opinion, move on....., Letters of Recommendation, Essays, revisions & revisions, move on! Round 2 deadlines are right around the corner. Good Luck on your application process. You're almost there. Check the gmat off you're list, and move on.
