Hello,
I have been preparing for GMAT since July. Had to take a break of 6 weeks due to work travel and resumed study only in October.
After resuming studies, I revised last 50 questions from OG (quants and verbal) and also did 500 and 600 level questions from gmatclub. Gave my first gmatprep test today and the score was 600 (35Q,38V).
There are a lot of silly mistakes I have made, even on my strong areas! By far these are the most mistakes I have made in verbal - ever!!
Please help - how do I proceed from here....
Hard to say since you haven't given how you have prepared for the test till now. Usually, it's most effective to start out with theory to get a good understanding of all the important concepts. Thereafter, you progress from 500 to 600 to 700 level questions.
My suggestion for you would be to start from the basics and not take such a long break in between again, if possible. People lose a lot of steam and fizzle out of the zone with long breaks. Anyway, you should be back on track soon.
Your score is actually much better in Verbal than in Quant, not only raw score but percentile wise. Take a week to focus solely on Quant - review all concepts thoroughly. Then practice both in tandem.
Thank you for the suggestion.
I did begin with theory and brushed up all fundamentals when I started studying. Also, completed OG questions for PS and DS. I guess its the gap in between that has me done for
Anyhow, I am starting with a resolve to not let work impact the study routine (fingers crossed)
I gave the Economist test today and scored 630 (41Q , 34 V). Here is what i plan:
