Hey
I am completely new to this forum and have very less knowledge of its functioning.
However, I am writing this post in order to seek help for GMAT Quant preparation. I am from a non-engineering background, its been over five years since I left Maths.
To be frank I was even too great in Maths, though you can say I was weak in Maths. But now that I have made up my mind to pursue MBA, I have no other choice but to
study Maths all over again. Even my basics are not clear but to say I grasp easily.
Kindy recommend me how to go about the quant preparationas. I am planning to take exam in June or July'16.
Dear
ektaargalWelcome to GMAT Club! I'm happy to respond.
I will make a couple of recommendations:
1) Read this blog post, and follow the links in it to other blog posts>
How to Study for GMAT Math2) On GMAT Club, there's a super-math-genius by the name of
Bunuel. I would recommend paying close attention to what he writes.
3) As I am sure you appreciate, the very best way to get better at math is to practice, practice, practice. You will find a number of good problems for free here in GMAT Club. Try them yourself before you look at the solutions that have been posted.
4) Of course, also use print material --- of course the GMAT
OG as well as the
Official Quant Review, an official supplement that is sold separately. Lots of GMAT test prep companies have very good math questions (it turns out that it's much easier to produce high quality math questions than it is to produce high quality verbal questions!) If you find a question in a book and you don't understand the explanation, you can come here to GMAT Club. ALWAYS SEARCH for such a question before you post it: that is forum etiquette. If you find it in an existing thread, you may find your answer in one of the posts in that thread: if not, add your question to the thread. Start a brand new thread only if there is no hide nor hair of the question already in this forum.
5) You are always welcome to solicit the advice of experts when you post on GMAT Club, using the "mention this user" button. You are more than welcome to ask my help with any math problem or math study question. If you post in the
Magoosh forum of GMAT Club, then I will see your question there and answer it.
Best of luck, my friend. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Mike
