A dedicated study for 5 months should be appropriate. Should solve OG questions (Mock Test - 1 & 2) to gauge the preparation post 3-4 months.

All the Best.

Hello Viktor28,

Please avoid any gaps; schools can see through the gap coinciding with GMAT prep; generally speaking, 5 months should be enough.

All the best!

Hi guys,

Wanted to ask a question so I am a 23 year old with almost 2years of experience and 2 months to go, so i was planning to put paper and study for 5 months for gmat, does the gap play a role and is 5 months sufficient to get a good school and also wanted to know when are the last dates for applying for colleges mostly targeting Indian college

Hi Viktor28,

5 months is more than sufficient to prepare for GMAT and and achieve a strong score. However, please avoid quitting your work to prepare for the exam. Any gaps need to be justified and having a gap solely to prepare for GMAT is typically not seen very favourably by schools.

Schools like ISB, their applications start in September. ISB Round 1 deadline for this year's applications is 14 September 2025.

Viktor28 - to be honest, taking time off for GMAT prep isn't recommended, as B-schools expect candidates to balance work with their studies.

A 5-6 month prep is generally sufficient for a GMAT. For Indian MBA programs, Round 1 deadlines typically fall between Aug and September.

Arvind
