Hi All,
Thank you for your contributions to GMAT Club - this is an awesome platform. I wanted to see if anyone has advice regarding a study plan given where I am in my study process? I will post some data below on progress to date:
-Study timing so far: ~5 hours/day, 6 days per week, 1 rest day per week (1 month in so far)
-Primary study content:
Magoosh lesson videos (typically covering 8 quant videos per day), beginning to use McGraw-Hill's "Conquering GMAT Math" book as well, 1.5 hours/day outside reading, mental math phone applications (mostly 2 digit x 2 digit addition/subtraction/multiplication)
-Primary practice problem sets:
Magoosh product (adaptive sets one section - CR/SC/DS, etc - at a time), 2017 Official Guide (ascending order of problem number)
-Running
error log of ~400 problems flagged to date
-Hours studied to date: ~140
-Have taken 3 Practice CATs, evenly spaced 10 days after each other (
Manhattan Prep, in chronological order): 1) 620 (38Q/36V), 2) 580 (37Q/32V), 3) 630 (40Q/36V), with plans to continue taking a CAT every 10 days until I consistently am in the 700+ ballpark
More background: I quit my job to travel the world in July (travels obviously on hold because of COVID) and have a good 2-5 months to devote entirely to GMAT studying (have been averaging ~5-6 hours studying per day for the last month) before either traveling again or re-entering the workforce. I worked in investment banking and hope/dream of going to the best possible b-school. I understand that a 730+ will be helpful in getting there. I live in sunny St Pete, FL, and practice meditation, daily reading, mental math, cardio exercise, and feel strongly about other "intangibles" that may positively influence my score.
Any insight on how to best improve would be greatly appreciated. It seems continuing to hammer away primarily at Quant is the right course of action. I am happy to help anyone else out as you see fit.
All the best
Eric
